She was a very prominent figurehead for the foundation of rectitude within Islamism. I recall some while ago on B&W reading about the vicious whippings she received at the hands of a handful of [I think] Somalian Islamic fundie thugs. Doubtless, to say, Ehsan Jami, a local council member for the Dutch Labour Party and a former Muslim is now experiencing the same appalling providence. I hope for his sake naught too far-reaching occurs. Nevertheless, given the climate that now prevails since 9/11 - one can never be too convinced. It is fear-provoking.
