Russia says it cannot accept the findings as the final truth, saying no Russian weapons were taken to Ukraine.

In an interview with the BBC, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there was “nothing to accept or deny”, as he understood these were preliminary findings.
“We cannot accept as final truth of what they say. I bet you haven’t seen any proof of what they say,” he told the Hardtalk programme, adding: “We know the devil is in the detail, and we are still missing lot of the detail.”
But he appeared to rule out that the missile came from Russia: “We’ve been ruling out the fact that any Russian weapons were shipped to Ukraine, any Russian army members, any Russian troops were inside Ukraine. And we’re still ruling out that possibility.”
That’s how you deal with unpleasant facts. You just “rule them out.”
What about the Russian troops actually captured inside Ukrainian territory? Or Crimea? Or the fact the rebels are armed and resupplied with Russian weapons? Oh, right, deny that has happened or say that since Russia/others have claimed the territory it’s no longer Ukrainian.
One thing this has taught us is that assholes speak the same language all over the world.
I can remember the predictions in the 90s that Russia would magically transform itself into a liberal democracy after the collapse of communism. Drivel. The country has no democratic traditions whatsoever and Russians have only experienced autocratic rule. Well, the international prosecutors have warned the Tsar.
The West will never get a satisfactory resolution from Russia, however there is one question that can be answered—Why were civilian airliners transiting a war zone? MH17’s altitude hasn’t been safe since the 1960s.

It’s inconceivable that the Russians would do nothing after they lost control of Crimea and its warm-water port.
