In god we do not trust, neither do we believe
Separation of church and state? What’s that?

By the way? I don’t trust their “god” – not for a second. Their god is a hateful shit and a bully.
If the Florida House of Representatives has its way, all public schools in the Sunshine State will soon be required to post the words “In God We Trust” — the state’s motto — on all campuses where students and staff can see them.
The House voted on the legislation Wednesday — 97 to 10, with members standing and applauding the results — after finding time to debate and approve a bill declaring pornography a “public health risk.”
Yet the House refused, 71 to 37, to take up a bill this week to ban assault weapons, which had been supported by student survivors of the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, where a gunman killed 17 people. The students had gone to the state capital to push for gun control and were in the gallery when the gun legislation was raised. Some were dismayed by the legislators’ inaction.
It’s so profoundly insulting to all of us, even to themselves. No, we can’t do the thing that would actually make school shootings stop, but we can force you to bend the knee to a made-up magic spook in the sky. Say no no no to the real world fix, and then force a fantasy on everyone.
Rep. Kim Daniels (R), who runs a ministry, said it would help provide needed “light” in the state’s schools, according to the Tampa Bay Times. It quoted her as saying: “He is not a Republican or a Democrat. He is not black or white. He is the light, and our schools need light in them like never before.”
But “he” is, apparently, a he. Funny how he’s not these other polarities but oh yes indeedy he most certainly is a boy person.
Humans have been a mistake.
You’ve got a lot of nerve criticizing them for such an obviously useful, and so cost effective, solution. They’ve done that, and this is ON TOP OF thoughts and prayers, so what more do you expect from them?
If they need light, they should just install some bulbs. Sitting around with blown bulbs? Maybe that’s the problem.
The problem is, since it’s been our national motto and on our money, it’s hard to get the courts to rule against it – after all, it’s official, right? Damn I hate these god botherers interfering in our attempts to just live and let live.

And to apply a recent statement regarding another subject, I think a solution is being worked on…
“It’s been many years of all talk, no action. We’ll get it done!”
Monday in Arkansas a law went into effect *requiring* schools to display ‘In God We Trust’ posters ‘if framed copies of the phrase are contributed’.

I don’t imagine it’s a coincidence that this proposed monstrosity is coming up in several state legislatures at the same time. Probably like “Stand Your Ground” laws and many others, it comes out of the ALEC cesspool.
He also has a strange habit of skipping out whenever angry gunmen show up.
I suppose he could be on their side, and like the fact that kids are getting killed in their godless schools. That would fit with Ophelia’s description perfectly.
Of course god is a he. As you say, “Their god is a hateful shit and a bully.” While that alone doesn’t rule out god being a woman, I ask you to consider all the mass murder, genocide, rape, impregnating a virgin without consent, turning a woman into salt without warning, ordering people to kill their own children and other atrocities he demands praise for.
Now think for a minute. How many women can you associate with mass murder, genocide, ordering people to kill their children, and other despotic acts? Hell, even the modern practice of shooting up schools seems to be a uniquely male pass-time. This may offend some, but I think there’s enough evidence to assign gender to god beyond reasonable doubt.
Contrary to myth, the so-called “Pilgrim Fathers” didn’t leave England for the New World to avoid religious persecution. They intended to create their own little theocracy. Their ideological descendants are certainly following their lead.
How can a modern society be so infested with demented religiots while most Western democracies are being increasingly secular?
