The crowd laughed
Trump did his talk at the UN today. He came across as…barely conscious. Drugged or exhausted or strokey.
He started with his usual boast, and the UN people laughed.

If you measure accomplishment by how many of our allies he has pissed off or alienated, then he is probably right (but it is a >200 year history, so there may be some case somewhere that I am not familiar with).
He has accomplished one thing that no World leader, never mind American president has ever accomplished. Having the U.N.G.A laugh at him in an open display of derision.
I honestly would never have thought I’d see the day that the U.S.A. would become the laughing stock of the world, even when Dubya was in charge, but in less than two years this vile little man has turned America into an international joke.
I truly feel for every one of you that didn’t vote for the dotard – except for those who cast ‘anybody but Hillary’ protest votes or who didn’t vote at all, both of which were effectively votes for Trump. It’s not right that the stupidity of others is forcing you to live through this nightmare.
Which counts for 3 million more than voted for Trump. Hillary should be in the White House now if we were truly a representative democracy, but we have retained a system designed to make sure that the landowners got more vote than anyone else, and we keep it because it has the effect of giving strength to the white male vote (and the white wife vote). And everyone on the left that I see arguing for the good and right of this broken system needs to stop and realize what they are saying when they insist that we need to continue to give the Midwest more influence than their numbers would suggest – the real effect of minimizing the votes of the cities is to minimize the votes of the non-white. The immigrants, the African American community, even the women, are more likely to be in the cities than in the rural areas they are promoting, so they are suggesting somehow that the vote of these already more poorly represented groups should be minimized still further.
The system is broken. Trump is going to shatter the shards into fine powder.
If Trump learned one thing from the G.A reaction, it’s that he’d better stick to talking where nobody will contradict or laugh, so he’ll be sticking to his rallies and Fox and Friends for his lie-fests, and no more pontificating where there are adults in the room.
I’m going to tentatively suggest that he will be sending others to the big meetings for the foreseeable future, at least until he thinks he’s found a way to get revenge for his humiliation, because although he’d never admit it in a million years, that spontaneous, mocking burst of laughter had to hurt.
Also, I read that he left Trump Towers to go to the GA at the time he was due to speak. Mr. Low Boredom Threshold either didn’t want or couldn’t be trusted to sit and listen to boring speeches by forriners so forced a re-schedule of speakers.
I wonder if he was also pissed that all these wealthy people in town weren’t staying at his gilded monstrosity?
I’m not sure he recognized the laughter as laughter at him – I think he thought they were laughing with him at the “I wasn’t expecting that reaction but that’s ok” part. He is that stupid.
