See, if I was in his shoes, I’d be dying of shame and mortification right now. What’s the bet he’s not and in coming days he’ll double down.
It’s because trans women are THE most persecuted people in history, by a factor of eleventy.
But Ophelia, of course that’s true! Only men can be persecuted, because they are the only real people. Only men are, as the Wild Women Writing club puts it

So, even though men pretending to be women (and demanding everyone else believe them) are the safest demographic by far, and are actually abusers on a massive scale, they have somehow managed to convince everyone that the opposite of everything they say is true.
Men are ‘women’. Perpetrators are ‘victims’.
Emotional blackmailers are ‘at risk of suicide’ if their victims don’t do everything the men say; and that threat is the fault of the victims, even though there is no evidence that these men ever do commit suicide, and that means that victims are the ‘real abusers’.
P.S. Probably unnecessary pronunciation guide – Irish people pronounce ‘LM’ as if there were a schwa between the two letters (‘film’ becomes ‘fillum’), so Colm is pronounced the way people sometimes Anglicise it, as Colum, with a short ‘o’
