I am amazed that he did not move from there straight into a denialist rant about anthropogenic global warming and climate change. And an attack on Darwinism. And then on to an assertion that the only elements are earth, fire, air and water.

When was he NOT smirking? I couldn’t see any particular smirk. It was smirk from beginning to end. And, God, is he stupid!
