Wait who is jealous?
It’s lesbians who are jealous? Of trans people? It’s not trans people who are jealous of people of their coveted sex, so jealous that they literally pretend to be that coveted sex no matter how batty and misogynist and intrusive that makes them look?
You coulda fooled me.
Interesting. It used to be the feminist position that a woman can act and dress how she pleases; there is no clothing or mannerism test to be a woman. Gnu feminism appears to disagree as here we have a person transing lesbians on the basis of just those things. I guess now only the feminine women are genuinely women, all others are internally men.
Certainly we’ve seen plenty of trans-identified males who claim that women are jealous of how beautiful and feminine they are. But this is another level, claiming that women who dress and act in a masculine manner must really think they are are men, but are just unwilling to commit.
Why is this not directed at effeminate men, drag queens, male crossdressers? Why are these men not being criticized by Willoughby as lacking commitment, not taking being female as seriously as he does? “In effect, they’ve transitioned.” I can think of several possible reasons: men are less vocal in opposition to trans ideology; men are less affected by the promotion of trans ideology; and Willoughby only cares to attack women.
Wow. Just, wow.
It seems me that this is the logical conclusion of the trans ideology. Which leads me to repeat what I said a few days ago, that I just don’t see how the interests of LGB intersect with that of T. I haven’t read and thought about Q enough to have an opinion on that.
What is there to be jealous of?
If self-ID is sufficient, then “butch lesbians” don’t need to do anything more than what they’ve already done, other than I guess change their pronouns in their Twitter bios.
Clothes that are specifically for the male sex and clothes specifically for the female sex and never the twain shall meet?
It’s this sort of stupidity that makes me think this stupid cult is way overdue for pushback. If there really are people with crippling dysphoria, let them do what they need to do. But society trying to convince itself that humans have a spiritual “gender” essence and that they can genuinely change their sex through surgery, … it only leads to moronic statements like this India Willoughby’s offering.

Sackbut, that point occurred to me, too. I think you hit the nail on the head with “Willoughby only cares to attack women.”
I meant to add that Lauren Black, a butch lesbian, is told more or less daily that she’s ‘really’ a trans man and should just admit it and/or take hormones/have surgery. Her wife is told just as often that she is evilly preventing Lauren from being her ‘true self’.
Lauren does suffer from gender dysphoria but she has no illusions of being a man and no plans whatever to transition. It disgusts me that people would put this kind of pressure on someone who has spoken openly about her struggles with this mental health condition. I understand that they have to, because otherwise their incoherent ideology looks even dodgier, but that just disgusts me all the more.
It’s amazingly regressive. Once women seeking the vote were accused of “trying to being a man.” The only true women are tilt-headed vamps. 1930s Hollywood was less reductive than this.
Margaret Thatcher was called a man because of her forceful manner and free market ideology (her obvious heterosexuality and feminine presentation ignored). Women who get into positions of power are supposed to be nurturing and caring – otherwise they are not “real women”.
It’s as if the women’s movement of the 70s never happened – the movement that said I am a woman and I can do anything, dress as I please, sleep with whoever I like (and who likes me), work in whatever role – and still be a woman.
Their unquestioned stereotyping is so pervasive that they cannot see it. It doesn’t seem to register that heterosexual men can be ‘femme’ and women can be ‘butch.’
It’s nice that India made this part of gender ideology so clear. If “woman” is just an attitude, which may be put on by females or by males, then there is no place in womanhood for a gender non-conforming female. That’s why trans-identifying males like India get to kick actual females out of womanhood. They think they own “womanhood” now, and gatekeeping is their right.
I hope India continues to transplain this to us. It can only peak more people to see how misogynist and homophobic this ideology really is.
