Opus Dei is watching you
Kevin Roberts, the Heritage Foundation president and the architect of Project 2025, the conservative thinktank’s road map for a second Trump presidency, has close ties and receives regular spiritual guidance from an Opus Dei-led center in Washington DC, a hub of activity for the radical and secretive Catholic group.
Roberts acknowledged in a speech last September that – for years – he has visited the Catholic Information Center, a K Street institution headed by an Opus Dei priest and incorporated by the archdiocese of Washington, on a weekly basis for mass and “formation”, or religious guidance. Opus Dei also organizes monthly retreats at the CIC.
Perhaps to be continued.

You’d think that the extreme, right-wing,Protestant, Fundamentalist crowd who don’t accept that Catholics are even Christian would have an issue with this. There’s only so far that “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” can take you. An alliance with godless Communist Russians in WWII is one thing; working with (let alone following the plans of) Anti-Christ Papists is another. How does a good, Bible-believing Christian enter into a marriage of convenience with the Whore of Babylon?
Then again, this same crew thinks the prideful, greedy, lustful, envious, gluttonous, wrathful, slothful, impious, gold-plating, self-worshipping, blasphemous, Sunday-golfing, murder-inciting, serially adulterous, theiving, lying, covetous, and all-round generally repulsive human, Donald J. Trump is an OK, stand-up guy.*
Go figure.
*For those of you keeping score at home, Trump manages all seven Deadly Sins, and violates eight and a half of the Ten Commandments. He hasn’t killed anyone with his own hands (I’m giving him a pass on military operations he’s ordered, here), but he’s publicly called for the deaths of more innocent people than most of us usually do, and in full page adds in the New York Times at that. And his policies are going to result in who knows how many deaths through unchecked epidemic disease, defective consumer products, and gutted environmental regulations. The only one of the Ten I can’t nick him for is failure to honour his mother and father.

*Sigh* and, once again, the link (since the iPad is obviously not up to the task. I can only assume it forces me to use the wrong kind of quotation marks around the URL, thus making the HTML tag non-functional).
