Spartanburg
The South Carolina Department of Health reported three additional cases of measles in Spartanburg County. That brings the number of cases in the state to 19 in 2025 overall and 15 in the current outbreak.
Two Spartanburg elementary schools have been linked to the ongoing outbreak ― Global Academy of South Carolina and Fairforest Elementary. About 140 students are quarantined at home.
“We have seen measles spread quickly in unvaccinated households here in South Carolina,” state health officials said. DPH confirmed that the three new cases are among unvaccinated individuals.
Thanks Trump, thanks Evil Kennedy.
Dr. Aqil Surka, with AnMed Pediatrics, underscored that vaccines are safe and effective in a recent Greenville News article about the outbreak. “They’re one of the best evaluated treatments we have, and they’ve been instrumental in preventing disease,” he said.
But, you know, a couple of ruthless sadists with no medical training whatsoever know better.

Covid could well have been as serious as the Black Death in Europe, 1346 to 1353, which killed an estimated 30% to 50% of that continent’s population. The next virus might not be so friendly. Instead of carts trundling through towns to the cry of ‘bring out your dead,’ it could well be ‘bring out your antivaxxers.’
Evil Kennedy please take note.
My brother, who was vaccinated against covid because he has heart disease, was recommending that people not get vaccinated. Guess who he voted for.
As a side note, it is kinda scary how many of the people online who are gender critical are also antivaxxers and in many cases Trumpers.
@Brian M #3:
Which is why I’ve pretty much no truck with people who claim to be GC unless proven otherwise. I manage to not believe men are women without also being a fascist/post-liberal/post-truth apologist; others are also capable of managing this.
“GC” is a label like “atheist”. It only tells us what someone doesn’t think. A shared lack of belief in gods or gendered souls doesn’t necessarily mean we agree on anything else, nor does it mean we all agree on this particular point for the same reasons. Just like there are people who reject “theism” for reasons that have nothing to do with critical thinking, there is no shortage of people who reject gender ideology for the wrong reasons. I still think sound thinking can’t avoid making you an “atheist” as well as “GC”, but that doesn’t imply that being an “atheist” or “GC” can’t avoid leading to sound thinking.
