Gimme it
Any attempt to “modify” Greenland’s territorial or constitutional status would not only violate international law, but could also “undermine” regional stability, the experts, appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council, said in a statement Wednesday.
“Assertions suggesting that a territory can be taken, controlled or ‘owned’ by another state in pursuit of perceived national security or economic interests evoke a logic of colonial domination that the international community has long rejected,” the UN experts said on Wednesday.
Of course it does. There’s no other way to describe it. “I want this country, you have to give it to me or else” is colonial domination on stilts.
We’re going backward in time.

Trump wants to build an empire, with him as emperor. I hope the international community wakes up and bites back before he succeeds.
Yes, but it’s not something for the “international community” to solve. It’s something for the USA to solve. Anyway, as for biting, they said on the news this morning that France has sent soldiers to Greenland. I don’t know if any other countries have. Let’s hope that TACO lives up to his name.
Unfortunately, the US is too polarized and destabilized to resolve it. Just as the international community had to respond when Hitler occupied France, Poland, and anywhere else he wanted to grab, if Trump attacks Greenland, it will be an international problem, and if he is allowed to succeed, he will grab Canada next, then Mexico (if he is willing to take in so many Mexicans as citizens), then who knows? His actions in Venezuela show he is capable of nearly anything that doesn’t violate the laws of physics (I don’t imagine he will ever fly by flapping his wings).
It’s easy enough to say ‘it’s for the US to solve’, but unfortunately, ducking out in that way could lead to disastrous consequences.
