Get someone with more experience
More Clown Show. Ben Carson declines a cabinet job because he doesn’t have the relevant experience. And yet…he ran for president.
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, a top ally of President-elect Donald Trump, is not interested in serving as the secretary of health and human services, The Hill reported Tuesday.
Armstrong Williams, Carson’s business manager and confidant, told The Hill that Carson won’t join the administration and will instead be an unofficial adviser.
It was reported earlier Tuesday that Carson had been offered the position of HHS secretary.
“Dr. Carson was never offered a specific position, but everything was open to him,” Williams told The Hill. “Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience; he’s never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency.”
And yet he ran for president. He has no government experience, he’s never run a federal agency, but that didn’t stop him running for the most demanding federal job of all.
So, what’s the over/under on him just realizing this administration is likely to be a complete fiasco, and not wanting to be too deeply associated with it?
What a bunch of stumblebums. Last Friday the Trump team somehow missed that it was Veteran’s Day. Around 3pm someone must have realized and put out a statement. Meanwhile Obama had solemnly laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier: respectful, somber, with grace and imbuing the occasion with the dignity it deserves. Trump has no dignity respect, and hell no! on any grace. He’s a bull-in-a-china-shop.
This is so enervating I can’t even head-desk. Even if Trump wasn’t clearly as bad as he is, you judge a person by those they gather around them. Look at his top aides and confidants. A varied mix of incompetent, shambolic, hate-filled, cynically self-interested, ne’er do well rejects.
Gretchen – how much you wanta bet we have a repeat of Reagan’s visit to Bitburg? Ignorance for these people – a steady stream of Republican presidents starting with Ford – is considered a virtue. And it’s considered a virtue with their voters.
I hope this means he’s not interested in the DOE anymore?

Actually running a federal agency is too much work for too little financial gain. I’m just surprised he’s being so honest about his own lack of experience.
That is hilarious! or it would be if it weren’t so frightening.
Isn’t Ben Carson the guy who keeps a “signed photo” of himself with Jesus on his wall? Guess who he would pick for his administration if he actually ran and won?
