Nah.
Is any theater really consistent with Lincoln’s values?

HA!
BOOM-tish.
Too soon!
Zing!
Last time he went he got a splitting headache.
Listening to Philip Glass gives me a headache, so there’s that. But, aesthetics – and jokes – aside, kudos to the man for taking a stand.
So what’s the over/under on how much Trump will sue him for?
Francis Boyle:
You might want to try a few different pieces of Glass.
Some works by Glass I find to be excellent and some I wonder why he bothered.
I’ve always thought his music for Koyaanisqatsi was excellent, and I can’t imagine the movie without it. It’s such a perfect match of image and score. Other things I’ve listened to didn’t work so well for me.
I adore The Photographer. And some of his film scores are good. Einstein on the Beach, however, bored me silly.
Frasier said it:
You see, there’s a stunning woman who comes to the opera on the same nights we do. She has the box right across from ours. We’ve flirted a bit from a distance. I have laughed with her during Figaro, cried with her during Tosca. I even had a dream about her during Einstein on the Beach
2nd “The Photographer”, glad to see him not do the show.
I must have forgotten that he did the music for Koyaanisqatsi. That was certainly an effective score but a film score is a different kind of thing. (I once won an award for an animated film I made where I did everything including the soundtrack and I can assure you I’m no kind of musician.) The thought of being trapped in a concert hall with Glass playing is my kind of hell – and I’m pretty that must have happened to me at least once in my concert-going days.
