Bully, attack, defame, pander, provoke

Not to forget keeping track of Trump.

The primary source:

As you can see, the order is reversed from the Translate Trump list, which went down the page while chronology goes up.

As Translate Trump indicates, every single one of these is wildly inappropriate from a president. Racist, libelous, abuse of power, a threat to the free press and the ability of all of us to know what’s going on and what he’s doing to us, bullying, more bullying, even more bullying – this is what Republicans can support to the bitter end? It’s terrifying. It makes you fear they’d eat us all for lunch if they got just slightly hungry.

    What a Maroon

[Posted this in Miscellany yesterday, but seems apropos here.]

Actual headline from Fox News (I won’t link because Fox News):

“Tucker Carlson: Smollett isn’t innocent. He’s something ‘better’–privileged, famous, and above the law.”

Irony meters as far away as Diego Garcia registered readings that were off the charts.

Some More News has an absolutely blistering takedown of Carlson on YouTube. I only occasionally watch Cody Johnston (who is in his way a scruffy, bearded Rachel Maddow), but that video was one of the better of his I’ve seen.

One of the things I’ve been thinking about lately is how much the Trump administration has revealed about the GOP. Can we now stop claiming that we all want what’s best for the country, we just disagree on what that is? The pandering to Trump that has gone on, even by Republicans who claimed to dislike him, has revealed them for what they are – greedy opportunists that lack the slightest smidgeon of conscience. I used to wonder how low they would sink. Now I have a good idea, though I suspect we haven’t seen the lowest it will go yet.

The only thing, the only thing that matters to a lot of these GOP lawmakers and voters is the ability to make money without sharing. Cut taxes? Yes, and I don’t care who gets hurt. We’ll have to close schools? Close ’em, then, I can afford to send my kids to private school. We’ll have to let people starve? Fine. They’re not my people. We’ll mess up the atmosphere for future generations to come? Fine, I’ll be dead by then, and besides, who doesn’t want warmer winters?

Making money and showing their macho – racism macho, sexism macho, xenophobic macho, swagger macho, military macho. Their conscience, if they ever had one, has been replaced with a cash register brimming over with dollars and hate.
