So why didn’t Bill Clinton have several years added to his term for all the time the investigations ate? Oh, wait, the GOP didn’t like Clinton (even though they got a lot of their wish list through thanks to him).

Because Bill Clinton lied about things! And many years later his wife would have emails. On her computer!

All Trump ever did was make America great. Again!

And, his wife is shrill and wears pantsuits, so there!

Too much of the mainstream media (looking at you, WaPo) is treating this like Trump is joking. He is not joking. The man wouldn’t know a joke if it punched him on the nose. What did Masha Gessen say?

Rule #1: Believe the autocrat. He means what he says. Whenever you find yourself thinking, or hear others claiming, that he is exaggerating, that is our innate tendency to reach for a rationalization. This will happen often: humans seem to have evolved to practice denial when confronted publicly with the unacceptable. Back in the 1930s, The New York Times assured its readers that Hitler’s anti-Semitism was all posture.

    Oh yeah. That.

One question: Him and whose army? For all the noise his rallygoers make, they’re not exactly the Brownshirts.

On the other hand: Who enforces his removal, assuming even enough Republicans say enough? Federal marshalls? Capitol police? The military?

Well, Bruce, he’s commander-in-chief of the army, so that could be tricky. They are trained to do what the president says. On the other hand, if the Supreme Court swears in a new commander-in-chief based on a legal election, and the old dude won’t move out of the White House, who will the military listen to? My guess is the new guy (or gal), but, well, who knows? I don’t see a majority of the military going against the Constitution to keep Trump in the White House, but strange things do happen sometimes.

My thought (hope?) is that the Joint Chiefs would inform him that, at the end of his term he is no longer the Commander in Chief, and will only take orders from President Warren. Hey, a guy can dream.

Dream, friend. I’ll dream with you. It’s not impossible…

It will be easy to know at the end of this term. If you notice his family being out of reach away from the public and him, for some, you should pardon the expression, trumped up reason, in a safe and undisclosed place, it’s coming. he’ll have to be taking precautions for his safety.

Like a lot of abusive assholes, Trump loves to use the “I’m kidding” defense.

    Step 1. Demand something outrageous.

Step 2a. If you receive it, act like you were entitled to it all along.

Step 2b. If you get push back from your subordinates/allies, insist that you were only kidding.

Step 3. Come up with a new wish and go back to Step 1.

    He didn’t think to ask.
