“OK Boomer” stands in place of a logical argument because there is no logical argument. And if there is, Zakaria doesn’t know it.

I’m not even sure what the appropriate response to “okay, boomer” is. Do you respond in kind with something like, “right-o, kiddo”? Do you point out that “okay, boomer” isn’t even fallacious, as it isn’t even an argument? Do you, as was common on a bbs I frequented in the dark ages, tell them to choke on a barrel of cocks?
That’s the problem with it: it’s not playing the rational discussion game, so the rules and strategies of that game don’t apply.
Reminds me of arguing with The Usuals on FTB, perhaps Gilliel most of all.

The appropriate response is to leave the conversation because it’s not really a conversation. You may be accused of something like losing the argument, but it’s not an argument in good faith that anyone can win.
