To celebrate

Oh will they now.

That’s rich seeing as how they’ve all shat on the source of their fame and wealth i.e. JK Rowling.

Well, 114 years ago today was the birth of Oklahoma as a state. I’m willing to be none of them were there for that beginning!

I wonder if Rowling will participate. I wonder if the vitriol over her remarks will be brought up. I wonder if the nasty comments from these three will be brought up. Judging from the article, I think the answer to the last couple of questions is no, but I have no idea about the first. Rowling isn’t even mentioned in the article, so my guess is no.

ikn @1 Or the 90th anniversary of Green Grow the Lilacs this year, which Oklahoma! is based on. We did a middle school production of that back in the 70’s. I helped with the lighting. ;)

I’ll be busy that night reading a Robert Galbraith novel.

Well that’ll take you all week… R. Galbraith novels are value for your money in that way.

“Chris Columbus”?! Hmmm… sounds a bit … colonialist? Exploratory?

Advice I got from others here regarding the Galbraith “Cormoran Strike” novels, and with which I agree, is read them all and in order. The story is linear. Galbraith does do a good job of filling you in at the beginning of each book, but I was very happy to have followed the story in proper sequence.

The most recent one, Troubled Blood, is easily the best of the bunch, and won Crime Novel of the Year from some organization last year. What a treat it was. But I enjoyed them all.

Galbraith is planning on there being ten novels in the set; she has a grand plan and is halfway through it.

I’d enjoy seeing them explain why JKR was not invited, if she is not. And if she is, I’d enjoy even more if they were asked to specify a single specific statement of hers that is transphobic.

Or if she is invited, I’d love to see her tell them she’s going to fund new versions of the films where the problematic children are digitally replaced with people who can actually act . . . (meow!)
