“Christine is on the left in the podium photo.”

Ha, I think we could have figured that out.

Yeah I think that was said with a wink!

Reminds me of the clarifying caption added to the photo shown here:

I remember years ago being reassured that this wasn’t going to happen. There were so few trans ppl, and their advantage either absent or minimal, so that my worrying about the possibility was transphobic. Trans & trans allies agreed it wasn’t going to happen — only transphobes said it would.. As I recall, I asked what would happen if it did happen, hypothetically. I don’t recall an answer.

Turns out it happened anyway and it is absolutely fine.

And in this case, since he’s on the lower podium, he is IMMENSELY larger than the young woman next to him. And the size of his feet…I have seen some women who have big feet (all I have to do is look in the mirror), and I don’t think I’ve ever seen feet that size. On the other hand, I have seen some feet that size on men before.

If li’l Tessa has in fact been “cleaning up the cat 3/4s” and if the Chicago cyclocross area works like my local federation, she would be encouraged to cat up from beginners to elite racing. But why not double-dip if you’re into sand-bagging the competition….

Further, can we expect a feature on the success stories of trans-men in the male [now uaually ‘open’] competition? Well, actually…
