If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth, or at least wallpaper/background noise that nobody is supposed to notice or comment upon any more. Boredom and resignation are part of the process; to talk against this “truth” is supposed to become rude and churlish at the very least, and possibly biggoted and even genocidal.
