On a serious note, this is the problem with the Trans debate. There's no need to be hostile or impolite to people who identify as a different gender. All that's needed is to politely but firmly say "no, we can't allow you to do that because we have a duty of respect to others".

WTF is more “impolite”?

(1) Recognizing that a man is the sex he actually is? or

(2) Men forcing themselves on women in every conceivable instance where sex matters?

Man thinks about complex ongoing issue for 30 seconds, does no research, ‘solves’ issue in his own mind and declares others stupid and wrong. Having achieved such great success, for his next act of public service he will solve the Middle East problem, and then before dinner the Ukro-Russian war. If only there was a word for this designed to give men a moments pause for thought.

It’s the old failure to recognize the original breach of “politeness”, the original offense. No matter what you may have inferred from parents’ saying they didn’t care who started it, who started it actually does matter. It’s the difference between offense and defense.

I rather blame the media for this, actually. The common response of someone who has only just now stumbled into this issue is to think that some firm, but polite truth telling will sort things out. The media failure is that Johnny Come Lately will have no idea that this has been tried over and over and over again with little success and significant losses.

There is no need to be hostile and impolite. When a man who calls himself a woman wishes to use the men’s room, it is incumbent upon all of us fellows to be kind and accommodating.

If they are representative members, the group doesn’t sound very rationalist. Well, maybe it identifies as rationalist.
