Catching up
From the Department of Made-up Problems:
Youth charities like Girlguiding can hopefully come up with “innovative” ways to ensure children do not feel excluded in the wake of a ban on trans girls joining, the Children’s Commissioner has said.
The ban is on boys joining. Girlguiding is for girls (the name is a broad hint). Lots of things are for boys; Girlguiding is one thing that is for girls. If boys feel “excluded” because of that, well, welcome to what it’s like being a girl.
A coalition of volunteers and parents has argued that refusing a child based on their gender identity “sends a message of rejection” to young people.
But it’s not based on their “gender identity”, which is meaningless. It’s based on which sex they are. That’s not “rejection”; it’s allowing girls to have something boys have had since forever.
Girlguiding – which has around 300,000 UK members across its Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers groups – announced in early December that it will only allow those recorded female at birth to join.
In other words Girlguiding will allow only girls to join Girlguiding. Fancy that.
Dame Rachel de Souza said she was “so sad” to hear of children feeling excluded.
Buck up, Dame Rachel. I’m guessing that what you “hear of” is not actual children actually feeling excluded, but adults drunk on trans ideology imagining hordes of children sobbing themselves to sleep. Or, even less persuasively, adults drunk on trans ideology simply claiming hordes of sobbing children, because that’s how trans ideology gets propagated and enforced. There’s really no need to feel sad about imaginary boys longing to be in Girl Guides. Most of those boys will have already been raised to think girls are weak and worthless, so they won’t want to go anywhere near Girl Guides.
“And what I hope is that Girlguiding gets together with its sister organisations and other charities to think about how every child can be included, and nobody has that feeling of ‘they can’t be there’. So, you know, I’m hoping for some innovative on-the-ground response.”
But we have that “they can’t be there” feeling all the time. All of us do. It’s just part of life. We can’t barge in everywhere, we can’t join everything there is to join, we can’t always open that locked door. Just go for a walk around your neighborhood to test out my claim. Can you walk into every house you pass without first getting permission? No you can’t; in fact, you can’t walk into a single one without first getting permission. Life is full of “can’t be there” situations. It’s not something that normal people cry themselves to sleep over.
And then there’s the imbalance issue. Items like Girl Guides tend to be belated corrections to situations where male people have a good thing and after a few decades or centuries female people get a version of that good thing. There was Cambridge, and then after a long time there was Girton. It’s not unfair that there was and is Girton, because there was already Cambridge. Men don’t need to invade women’s things because men have had men’s things for far longer than women have had women’s things. Boys don’t need to infiltrate Girl Guides. They really don’t.

I have a nephew with an IQ of 30. Does Mensa have to let him in so he doesn’t feel excluded? What if he identifies as a genius?
Should anyone really be following the counsel of people and organizations who deny the reality of sex, and who treat puberty as a disease?
This reminds me of Foxkiller Jolyon Maugham’s accusation that Wes Streeting was hiding “evidence” of a massive wave of suicides amongst “trans kids” after placing the ban on giving puberty blockers to minors. This highlights the fact that Maugham believes that there should have been such an epidemic of suicides, and is in effect disappointed that there was not, preferring to make accusations of supressed information than admit that his expectation, desire, and hope of mass suicides was misplaced. All those young, fragile, marginalized, betrayed, impressionable minds were just not quite impressionable enough, having failed to pick up on the cues and hints dropped by Maugham and others that they were supposed to do their part and obligingly kill themselves in order to fulfill this prediction.* What a waste. It’s shameful, really. Kids today; they’re just so ungrateful, and disrespectful.
It’s so sad when the the threats you’ve deployed in your emotional blackmail don’t pan out like you want them to. All of this melodramatic bluster and build up leading to…nothing. It’s Chicken Little, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, and The Emperor’s New Clothes all rolled into one, with the Prophets of Trans Doom seemingly left without the materilization of their forewarned death and disaster with which to beat us about the head. No politically useful swelling of the roll call to read with tearful solemnity on the Trans Day of Rememberance. But never fear! They couldn’t be wrong. All those suicides couldn’t not have happened, SO THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A COVER-UP!!! It’s put up, or shut up, without the shutting up part.
There’s always hope, Jolyon. You’ve just got to rethink and regroup. Just channel you inner ten-year-old. Perhaps the ban on puberty blockers was too abstract a concept for youthful, undeveloped minds to grasp sufficiently enough for them to consider it The Hill They Would Die On. Adulthood is just too far away to understand. A child’s motivations are going to have to involve the denial of something more immediate, concrete, and fun, like No Dessert for You. Maybe these recalcitrant boys who insist on not killing themselves will finally do their bit now, now that they’re being kept out of Girl Scouts. Dame Rachel’s stoking disappointment and fear of Exclusion. Maybe if she throws in a bit of aspirational suicidal ideation, that will take things over the top, and you’ll get your body count after all. Fingers crossed, right Jolyon?
Even if this iteration doesn’t work out for you, you’ll be able to restage this performative, vicarious, crowdfunded outrage and snake-oil show every time some ill-gotten trans “right” gets “rolled back” with the government’s reluctant, begrudging, slow-motion implementation of the Supreme Court ruling. You’ve got lots of allies on the inside helping out. After all, who are they going to listen to and side with, a saint like you who understands the difficult, complicated and painful process that has been so cruelly forced upon them, or a bunch of angry, old, unkind women, with chips on their shouldes and axes to grind, who want to destroy everything they’ve been doing for sake of The Most Marginalized Community on the Face of the Earth? Fuck those bitches. At this rate, you’ll be able to keep this grift of yours going for years. Don’t you worry, Jolyon. We all know you’re in it for the
big long haul.*It’s trans ideology’s version of “Let’s you and him fight.”
Ooops. Strikeout in the last line of the main body is supposed to be for “big” only.
Poor excluded transgender identifying boys! It isn’t like there’s no such thing as Boy Scouts. They can be included in Boy Scouts to their hearts’ content.
