I wonder what kind of spectacular mealy mouthing Verma would have produced if she was asked for a definition of “transmen.”
That fact that there are so many women like this who are clearly trapped in a delusion that endangers their own being is the reason I have no hope: It’s clearly a women’s issue, and if women are not on board, the rest is silence.
Mike B, one of the things the opposition has always done is line up women against the women’s movement. Men working against it can be dismissed as old-fashioned patriarchs who just want to protect their privilege. I don’t know how many people I’ve known who say, since there are so many women in opposition, the woman’s movement doesn’t represent every woman, and therefore, we can ignore their demands. Or they can choose the side they want to be an ‘ally’ too, and say, see, I’m supporting women.
And too many of the women who are opposed to trans nonsense have lined up with the Trump administration in its totality now. Sort of the “if they lie about something so basic as who can get pregnant, how can you believe anything they say?” The left has made itself look ridiculous by such things as arguing that men can get pregnant, no, really, they can, just look at the science!
One of the most ridiculous claims is that a trans ID “man” can get pregnant, when one of the most basic identifiers of being a woman is to do so. If they are truly men inside, what is the impetus to get pregnant?
Why can’t she just answer the question??? If she really believes that men can get pregnant, if she’s really that stupid, why doesn’t she just say “Yes” and move on?
@4: Mike, they would tell you that the ability to get pregnant has absolutely nothing to do with being a woman; that the only identifier of being a woman is saying the magic words “I am a woman”. Since “transmen” refuse to say those words, therefore, according to this argument, they are not women, no matter how many times they get pregnant.
