So, when was America safe?
Was it five years ago, when the US was in the midst of a pandemic?
Was it ten years ago, when Donald Trump was first elected?
Was it twenty-five years ago (give or take a few months)?
Was it in the 1990s, when the rate of violent crimes was about twice what it is now?
Perhaps America was safe in the 1970s, when marital rape was still legal? Or in the 1950s, when the infant mortality rate was five times higher than it is now and leaded fuel was still the norm?
Were the United States safe one hundred years ago? Two hundred years ago? (I’m not too sure, but I think there was a lot of slavery back then, or something like that. Maybe that’s just woke propaganda.)
Let’s go back a bit further. I’m willing to believe that no human deaths occured in the Americas 100,000 years ago. What’s more, the average animal probably lead a much happier life back then. So if that’s what Trump is aiming for, I can’t say I’m opposed.
