It can’t be anything else

Maya asks an important question.

And why is the ability to debate destroyed?

Because the subject of the debate is childish nonsense.

Adults don’t “debate” the existence of Mickey Mouse or Harry Potter. Fictions are fictions; there’s nothing to debate.

Same with trans ideology. No, people can’t change sex. The end. Nothing to debate.

For debate to make any sense there has to be the possibility of truth on both sides. If one side is just obvious fantasy, the game is pointless.

When one side of a debate is obvious fantasy, that’s religion taking hold. Adults don’t debate the existence of Mickey Mouse, but alas, Christian adults have been known to debate equally crazy things. Angels dancing on the heads of pins, etc. If only it were as simple as, No, people don’t come back from the dead, and that goes for Jesus. But here we are, two thousand years and countless slaughtered infidels later, still arguing about it…

It seems the stricter a religion is, the more plainly unbelievable its central tenets are. There’s something about the challenge to believe in unbelievable things that activates the religious mindset in a great many humans. It’s the glue that bonds Us and unites us against the evil Them. We just can’t resist an opportunity to sort the populace into safe cozy Usses and big bad scary Thems. Gender ideology elicits unhinged behaviour precisely *because* it’s nonsensical. In the religious sense, its unbelievability is a feature, not a bug — it’s its greatest feature, in fact. You can see this in the way that its proponents don’t actually discuss the ins and outs of its logic much; mostly, trans is cited to delineate the good from the bad: all they ever seem to talk about is trans *support* versus “transphobia”. What is it they’re supporting? What is it we’re so supposedly phobic about? They don’t talk much about *how*, exactly, fashioning a fifteen year old boy’s healthy genitals into the vague appearance of a vagina actually helps him in his life. Or why male convicted rapists deserve to be housed in women’s prisons. And they can’t ever quite explain why we’re wrong to oppose such things. They can’t because they don’t have to: all they need to know is that we’re bad, hostile Thems and they’re safe friendly Usses, and it’s dangerous to even try to listen to us, lest they get dragged away from the comfort and security of their tribe…
