Jerry Falwell still loves Trump

Oh god. We dive ever deeper into the sewer. Fox Business Network anchor Lou Dobbs tweeted the address and phone number of Jessica Leeds this morning.

I cannot wait for this to be over. It’s a little sliver of fascist hell all by itself, and we won’t recover from it in a hurry. This terrible human being is trashing the place.

The Times reports:

Donald J. Trump pushed back aggressively on Thursday against what he called “false smears” from women who claimed unwanted advances, seeking to stabilize his campaign as Michelle Obama declared “it doesn’t matter what party you belong to, no woman deserves to be treated this way.”

The dueling addresses showed how the race had been galvanized by reports of Mr. Trump’s behavior with the election less than four weeks away, with Mr. Trump calling the disclosures a “horror show of lies” as they increasingly consumed his campaign.

He’s projecting, as he always does. The horror show is coming from inside the house.

“Anyone who challenges them is deemed a racist, a sexist, a xenophobe and morally deformed,” he said of the news media, repeatedly singling out the “failing New York Times.”

No, Donald – that’s you. You’re deemed those things because of the words that come out of your mouth.

At a rally Thursday in New Hampshire, Mrs. Obama, the first lady, ripped into Mr. Trump and said that his treatment of women was a sign of weakness. “We simply cannot endure this or expose our children to it any longer, not for another minute let alone another four years,” Mrs. Obama said.

She added, “Now is the time to stand up and say enough is enough.”

She’s profoundly shaken by the whole thing, as so many of us are. It’s not as if we focus on the sexism and racism and bullying because we want Trump to lose for some other, hidden, venal reason. The sexism and racism and bullying are the reasons. There are additional reasons, because Trump is generous that way, but they’re all of the same kind.

Jerry Falwell Jr., a prominent evangelical Christian leader who is the president of Liberty University in Virginia, said that he did not believe the allegations made against Mr. Trump and defended his character.

“That videotape that was released last week, I think there’s a different Donald Trump now,” Mr. Falwell told CNN. “Unlike Hillary, I believe all people are redeemable, and I believe his life has changed.”

I think most people are redeemable – but people with certain personality disorders maybe not. I think Trump is a wrong’un. I don’t think there’s anything in him that could make him change.

He is not curable or redeemable and he does not want to be. He is in that slice (small thankfully) of humans that is not redeemable The best thing will be for him to 1) lose the election 2) get convicted of one or more of his crimes 3) spend as much time as possible in the slam, 4) lose his businesses and wealth, and 5) slink back down his hole and disappear.

Oh and it’s probably likely that at least his daughters will distance themselves from him and maybe even cut him off. Melania will take that child and leave him, no matter what the costs. And he will have no more friends than he does now, which I suspect is very very few.

Jerry Falwell Jr is welcome to befriend him. Possibly they are peas in a pod.

Falwell doesn’t think that Trump has anything *in* him that would make him change. He believes everyone is redeemable through God Magic.

Everyone but Hillary apparently. Funny, I’ve always considered Falwell to be a sack of shit. I used to think he was worse than that, but then other conservative and christian ‘leaders’ evolved out of the slime.

I’ve seen several Trump supporters on my social media, defending him because ‘he apologized’ or ‘he was never convicted of any of those things’. Yet when the topic turns to Hillary Clinton, those excuses aren’t anywhere near good enough for them. It’s frustrating how blindingly obvious their double standards are.

Lou Dobbs is the absolute worst… except for everyone working directly for Trump. Yay, you get to soften the blow by “apologizing” while that poor lady just had her entire year plus ruined. What a wicked, wicked person.

The question of whether Trump assaulted those women and the question of redemption are separate issues.

I cannot comment on whether Trump is redeemable. I do not even share Falwell’s beliefs on redemption, since I do not believe it comes from a god. However, I can say that Falwell has no way of knowing that the allegations are false. What we all know is that Trump has boasted about sexually assaulting women and has a history of treating women disrespectfully. He has done that in recently. He might well be redeemable, but he certainly has redeemed himself yet.

    a) Sure, people can reform. A pity they don’t ever extend that grace to their political opponents.

    b) The man is 70 years old. He has had plenty of time to reform, but hasn’t bothered.

    a) Too right.

    b) 70+ — maybe a tiny bit addled by age and dope, you think? One of those is a matter of record. Plus, as we say it here, out of birth and unbridled habits …

    f) Has anyone seen or heard Clint Eastwood repudiate the Trump yet? I might have missed it. Other “stars” have. But then, they both seem to share something of a chair fetish … ;-)

    Oh, and: #5 — LOL @ Trumpster.

Rrr – I hope your misspelling of Eastwood’s first name was a typo, and not an intentional slur. You know insults based on female anatomy are not popular around here.

Thanks. And I also think I mistook repeal for repudiate? Aalso, my keybord is cting up.

Lou Dobbs publishes the name and address and phone number of a vulnerable (she has been assaulted, so yes vulnerable) member of society. What a wanker.

    Thanks again, oh O!

On another hand, I suppose the mistake would be a sensitive point for the former star cowboy and Mayor of Colgate ;-)
