Harassment and abuse dished out
A thread by Rosa Freedman:
THREAD: The excellent @Womans_Place_UK have put on many meetings in the last year to discuss women’s rights, and tonight I had the great privilege of speaking at one of those meetings. We discussed the law relating to sex & to gender identity. In many ways it was uplifting to be

by the transactivist lobby. This week I picked up my post & received three more hard copy letters (separate to the daily emails I now receive) from staff and students at universities in the UK and beyond who are scared to express their views for fear of stigmatisation. This week

Piss on her office door and inside on the floor. Threatened with rape, followed outside after dark, by men.
This is not any kind of liberation or progressive politics. This is disgusting male bullying of women.

Postscript: I think universities ought to consider sending communications to students & staff about appropriate behaviour. Peaceful protest is a legitimate part of freedom of expression. Harassment and abuse ought never to be tolerated. Employers have a duty of care to employees

It’s hateful malicious bullying, and you can’t build any kind of progressive politics on that. Harassing women is not in any way a form of talking truth to power, not least because women are not the sex that has monopolized power.
A report by James Kirkup in The Spectator:

Peeing on someone’s door is such a womanly protest, isn’t it?
I think I’m done with giving a shit about transwomen beyond basic human rights concerns… This is too much.
Lady M., pissing on doorsteps is an aggressive form of territorial behaviour exhibited by male cats. The males of most species go through some kind of territorial marking, but usually only on their own territorial boundaries. Tom cats, however, have a particularly pungent urine which they use when a queen is in season; all males in the area wil pee around the queen’s territory to mark ownership of the female, a clear signal to both the queen and to other males which is backed up by the dischordant caterwhauling day and night..
I only know this because of the many times I had to scrub the stench from our doorstep whenever my mother’s cats were in season (I can’t recall why, but she always waited until after the cats had been in season once before getting them spayed) and from the number of tennis- and golf balls I went through throwing them at the noisy little sods.
With the peeing and the constant screeching calls for attention, the transactivists are behaving just like male cats. I’m not saying that I have the solution, of course. On an entirely unrelated note, the behaviour is cured in cats by neutering the males.
AoS, Unfortunately, neutering doesn’t seem to slow the transactivists down.
Lady Mondegreen, that’s because – to be truly effective – the neutering has to be done prior to adolescence. Otherwise, the masculine habits are too ingrained to be affected.
On another entirely unrelated note, neutering human males before adolescence will ensure a steady supply of legal adults who never went through puberty, so will appeal to the pædophile wing of the MRA/transactivists.
Is that better or worse than the steady supply of legal adults who went through puberty but did not develop their brains or habits beyond those of adolescence? Because sometimes it seems our entire country has descended into juvenility.
iknklast, better in one respect. Until the practice was banned Castrati were once in great demand by choirs for the purity of their voices.
