Do the people who write this vindictive, hyperbolic crap have any insight into their own behaviour?

I have seen on Twitter, from a former FTBer whom I happen to have met in real life and have some respect for, retweets hailing the judgment as good, and comparing Rowling to Orson Scott Card. I knew that latter was inevitable, but it is still disheartening to see it made.
