For the record, are there any women’s groups out there that are actually led by women?
So this is just a man, right? A man named Teddy. Aside from his pro-trans shirt, there’s no trans angle, no claim that he’s a woman.
So…why is a man leading the women’s group?

Woman can’t lead, they can only follow. A woman without a man is, well, like a woman, but not a woman.
Of course Teddy is the right man to tell women what to do, how to think, how to feel. He’s the Rupert Murdoch of woke feminism.

Yes, I am serious. I am very disappointed in Teddy’s lack of effort. Come on, Teddy, at least smear on some lipstick* and claim you’re “Theodora” before you start trying to lead women’s groups. It’s just lazy.
(The weird thing is they have women in other positions, so I don’t know how a man ended up in charge of the women’s group. Maybe those female leaders are all the women in the group and they preferred those positions? But then if there are so few women, why do they need a leader?)
* Actual women don’t need to wear lipstick.
Teddy claims to be non-binary! And it’s so very dull and last century to let women lead women’s groups. Bitches.
Surprised this has lasted at Pharyngula, but maybe the TRA’s are all sleeping soundly tonight.

There are numerous testimonies, of women in particular, who have been driven from public life, or persisted in it despite anxiety and depression consequent on verbal harrassment based on their gender and/or other “protected characteristics”. Such harrassment is a hate crime: it is specifically intended to intimidate not only its immediate target, but all members of such a class or classes.
Like all the women driven from public life, harassed, fired, threatened with assault and murder for simply expressing that there is a biological basis to being a woman and that women need and deserve spaces free from males.

I’m afraid introspection is not a valued thing at Pharyngula, KG’s own lack of self-reflection included. Sure, let’s condemn harassment and threats but loathe those transphobes anyway.
Porivil Sorrens’ comment *should* read as a sarcastic comment, meant to parody the silliness of TRAs. But these sentiments are so rife within that scene, and meant with such utmost seriousness, that I can’t take it as anything but a sincere comment. Dr. Myers can edit and ban to his heart’s desire, but by letting that comment stand unchallenged, he shows that he has sided with the actual harassers.
Porivil has been like that and worse on many occasions. It is definitely not a sarcastic comment.
