    Putting politically sensitive investigations on hold until after an election paves the way for another impeachment proceeding after the fact. It gives them time to cover up their corrupt activities. In the event Trump wins reelection, he could be the first president to ever be impeached twice, a notorious distinction he would no doubt celebrate.

    Maybe he’s angling for a federal holiday. Impeachment Acquittal Day, in which we celebrate all the shitty things we did but were not held accountable for. I’m sure there’s a whole segment of the population who fit that description, the rest of us would simply get a day off.
