It’s really astonishing when in other countries politicians have put aside political differences to co-operate and not score party points. And that’s opposition politicians, not the head of government. It’s utterly surreal. I can’t imagine any other head of a western democracy behaving like this during a crisis.

Yes, but the other countries have leaders that are not entitled narcissistic toddlers. They may be entitled, they may even be somewhat narcissistic, but they are not overgrown toddlers.

Well, Ophelia, you must remember that America is exceptional. isn’t that the national myth?
Here in The Magical Land of Aus, we are seeing leaders from the 2 major parties in accord, with a little disagreement around the fringes. Our Prime Minister still seems incapable of listening without smirking, but now has the courtesy to at least try to listen. He is a member of a fundamentalist evangelical church but has had the good sense to close all churches. It has been said that right now Australia has the world’s first Social Democrat Conservative government. “-)
We often look across the ditch and admire the NZ Prime Minister, in fact, right now, I think she is more popular in Aus than NZ.
But we do have our crazies. Just fewer than you.

I resent that! Our leader is absolutely an overgrown toddler as well as being entitled and narcissistic.
We’re not quite in you guys’ league in that regard but we’re definitely punching above our weight.
