I suspect part of the reason trans issues have taken up such space in the Discourse is that LBGTQ orgs pivoted to trans issues after the legalization of gay marriage in 2015, and the media/culture followed suit. At this point, I’d be checking to make sure that all the lesbian referrences are references to actual lesbians, and not just TIMs claiming to be “lesbians.”

Probably right there. They would narrow their field down to those heterosexual women who incline to shagging men in drag: probably a small number, quite likely tending to 0.
