I do not understand the mentality of people like this, or perhaps I do, not that I wish to. They seem to exist in a little contemporary bubble where all is safe and secure, nothing is serious, and the past is reduced to a collection of trivia for cheerful exploitation in the interests of a shared narcissism.
If it’s like the Holocaust then it’s as if Jews put the stars on themselves… Not sure if that’s what they’re going for.

Instead of worrying about imagined “persecution” for refusing to be immunized, they might concern themselves with being infected by a virus that could kill them?

It’s stupidity plus the total insensitivity that derives from the idea that all the world’s a playground where the most important thing is to draw attention to yourself, by whatever means possible; and so you are justified in being as ‘daring’ & ‘outspoken’ as possible, and if you upset a few snowflakes, and draw the attention of institutions like the Auschwitz Memorial or the Anti-Defamation League, that’s all fine & dandy because you get to be famous in a Warholian sort of way.
