Liz Cheney was talking to her fellow Republicans:
“The case against Donald Trump in these hearings is not made by witnesses who were his political enemies,” said Cheney, a Wyoming Republican and the committee’s vice chair. “It is instead a series of confessions by Donald Trump’s own appointees, his own friends, his own campaign officials, people who worked for him for years, and his own family.”
Some of those people quit their Trump administration jobs on January 6.
The hearing on Thursday detailed Trump’s repeated refusal to quell the deadly mob, even when he knew that some of them were armed and that Vice President Mike Pence’s life was in danger. Cheney suggested the former President’s supporters should view his behavior related to that day as disqualifying for future office as many of Trump’s former allies do.
Why? Because he’s dangerous. He’d do anything. He’d invite Vladimir Putin to annex Boston and Seattle, and give him the weapons to do it.
The committee also showed video outtakes from Jan. 7, when Trump recorded a video message that aides had scripted to tell the public he knew the election had ended. He refused to go that far. “I don’t want to say the election is over,” Trump says to aides in the room, including his daughter, Ivanka Trump. “I just want to say that Congress has certified the results without saying the election’s over, OK?”

I have been helping my special friend who does henna body art at fairs. This last week we were at a county fair in Western Wisconsin. Rural, like where I grew up. Even though the hairstyles are different most of the clothes are the same as they were in my hometown. Jeans, t-shirts with the sleeves cut off (some very low so you can see sidebelly,) and honestly not a lot has changed in the 40 years since I left that scene.
Except for one thing. Open worship of a traitor who attempted to lead a coup. There was some pro-Reagan stuff, but nothing like this. Even during the hearings, which they must think is all a result of the liberal media trying to enslave them, people were selling and wearing shirts with that man’s face and a caption “Do you miss me yet?” Hello, I miss Boris more than Trump, and Boris isn’t even gone yet.
There’s a tent nearby SF’s booth that sells banners, flags, hats and all kids of kitzy shit that only rubes would buy. Many have captions about tyranny and liberty and guns and hating liberals, but most are pro-Trump. One of the other vendors has garden statues, including Mary and Jesus of course, but also of Trump. I don’t think these people are serious about the part of their religion that warns against false gods.
I keep my mouth shut so as not to harm SF’s business.
The wheels of justice sometimes turn too slow. Trump will choke on his KFC before he gets prosecuted for his crimes.
So bizarre. Filthy rich criminal from New York City who’s never done a minute of physical work in his life, idolized by non-rich people from farm country.
