    This makes me especially happy.

I was a little perturbed by the gold insignia in the upper left. Turns out is HAS had ‘nationalist’ meanings, but it is a standard feature in naval flags and the presidential flag.

@ John the Drunkard – President Zelenskyy wears one on his T-shirt.

JtD, that’s the Trident. It harks back to Royal State of Volodymyr the Great, and was proposed as Ukraines national symbol in 1917. I looked this up a few months back. If I recall it was originally meant to represent the holy trinity, not an actual trident.

Putin should be very worried at this: this is exactly the kind of nationalistic spirit that drove the Baltic peoples to foster a multi-generational hatred of all things Soviet or Russian. Underfed, underprepared Russian soldiers forced into military service in a foreign country cannot prevail against this.

There are also these young women and children jumping up and down, ending with one of them holding a rude sign.
