Nobody asked

Very normal. Not at all catastrophizing or narcissistic, no no.

He’s “been asked to comment” – he is just that important. Asked by whom? Modesty forbids. It was probably the pope, or the UN, or Amnesty International.

Of course Jolyon is too important and too much asked to comment to pause to tell us what rights he’s talking about.

Yeah we have trouble holding our heads up in polite company on account of we still think women have rights. How shameful of us!

Women who think women have rights are “fascist adjacents.” What a nice man he is.

The problem is that the Tories are indeed seeing this as a potential wedge issue. That will have the knock-on effect of leaving very little space (if there is any left at all) for dissent from the Labour Party orthodoxy. It now seems very likely that we will see a 12-18 month period where what Maugham is condemning goes ahead, only to have an even more aggressive assertion of self-identification rights after the next election.

“What is being done to trans people in the United Kingdom is awful.”

Sure, they are the Most Oppressed Ever™.

Just like the idea of God, if “transphobes” didn’t exist, they would have to be created.

Poor JoJo. Women are getting some rights back, and it’s keeping him up at night.

…Sunak, if he can carry Parliament, can remove the rights of whichever friendless minority he decides to target.

Friendless?! The Guardian, the BBC, the NHS, the Police services, MI5, the Labour Party, the Green Party all fly the trans flag and do their bidding. If only women were to be so lucky to be half as “friendless!”

What is being done to trans people in the United Kingdom is awful. I have no words, I am afraid, to describe my anger and my shame.

But he’s perfectly fine with all of the awful things done to women in the UK. No anger or shame there; women’s concerns are written off as “unreasonable.”

Poor JoJo. Women are getting some rights back, and it’s keeping him up at night.

Well, to be fair, he did expend a good deal of effort giving those rights away, so he must be pretty upset seeing all his hard work undone.

He’ll probaly take it out on the foxes.
