There goes his bid to be the first girl-mode PM in English history.
My guess is that Sheffield wanted a candidate who would take the job seriously.

I agree, Mike. I also think people have quite a powerful dislike for carpetbaggers and entitled celebrities. Abtisam has put her time in and done a lot for the community. I’m sure Izzard performs very well at fundraising dinners, but that’s not necessarily a good MP resume.
