If he plays his cards right from here, they might let him serve his sentence not in some federal pen, but in the Dade County Hoosegow, which as I recall is the closest slammer to his beloved Mar-A-Lago. But this issue is also likely to divide his fascist supporters into at least 2 camps: those who approve of broad daylight crime, vs those who don’t. A few ticks of the clock will tell.
Why did he have them in the first place? Why didn’t he give them back when asked? Was he trying to sell them or was he coerced by someone who had dirt on him? Was he trying to hide something? Was it all just a big stupid power play with no real purpose?
musbk, I imagine Trump loves having confidential documents. It makes him feel like someone. He’s so important, he has top secret classified documents. He can wave them around if he wants, because he was president.
The right-wing talk machine seems to have been stunned into silence.
Hard to tell if they are actually going to turn on Trump, or if they are just waiting for the dust to settle so that they can see how to spin the latest outrage.
