Catherine Ordway looks very masculine to me. Are we sure that’s a “woman on the panel”?
Aaaand that’s one of the things that this trans thing corrupts. People who don’t buy into the annihilation of sex become hypervigilant for intruders; i.e., sex indicators.
maddog, that’s my first thought, too. Until Ophelia said she was a woman, I assumed the panel was all male.
I need to confess that long before I peaked, I had convened a panel for a radio show that was 3 guys and a trans ID man to talk about atheist podcasting in the Twin Cities. While I had invited a woman, she had to cancel at the last moment. One of the male guests asked about it being a “sausage fest,” but I assured him that we were fine since one of the guests used female pronouns.
Once I peaked I felt like I had failed atheist women on that incident, but I assure you it wasn’t intentional.
That being said, I do not think that the producers of this show can plead naivety, since this is on a topic that directly affects women in athletics. C’mon, guys!
The Australian Stonewall has hijacked our ABC. Its coverage of trans issues has been so poor, one-sided, and biased, that it was called out last week by another of its own programs – Media Watch.
