I have loved Leunig’s work since he first came to prominence drawing for a new, left leaning but well funded investigative newspaper way back in the 70s. I have admired him ever since, his work is mostly whimsical, gentle, and drawn with humanity.
But sometimes, like any good cartoonist, he hits so close to home that there are yells for him to be “cancelled”. here, he is called a misogynist for reflecting on modern life.

Leunig, unfortunately, is also a well known anti vaxxer, and caused a huge storm with this one.

The inclusive, tolerant society cannot indeed tolerate the intolerant, or it sows the seeds of its own destruction. This is a good cartoon.
