I remember the “me too” “pussy hat” marches that millions of women went to in the big cities all over the USA. I don’t think the police joined in or celebrated or encouraged or were necessarily sympathetic with the millions of women who marched, but neither did they have to worry about or quell any threatened violence from the women, however great their numbers or however serious their grievances.
