Willoughby is very grumpy here, but the thing is – he says two trans women are not trans. Starting at 1:28 he says it. He goes on to say they’re not pretty enough. “They both look terrible, they look like a bag of spanners” – so it’s all about what one looks like? Not the soul? I thought it was the soul.

Wasn’t there a time not so very long ago when a major thread of trans argument was that trans people should not have to pass? That was in response to the appearance of bearded and obviously male blokes appearing in woman’s changing rooms, rape crisis shelters, prisons, and sports. “Oh, it’s about identity, not genitalia and beards and how you dress” they said. Now we have someone who is probably AGP gatekeeping other TIM’s. Pathetic. Made more pathetic and simultaneously hilarious by the fact Willoughby seems to believe their own airbrushed photos instead of reality.
There was indeed, that’s what I meant by it used to be about the soul. We were always told in no uncertain terms that trans women are women IF THEY SAY SO and that’s all there is to it. But, yaknow, it’s Willoughby. He’s not exactly principled.
It’s all about woman as sex object. If a man wants to believe himself to be a sex object, shut up and believe and don’t ever contradict him — he’s one of us, guys. We know what he needs. Let him have this. Bros before hos.
But if a transsexual male starts intimating that he’s not part of the Bros-With-Plastic-Sex-Object-Bods Club (and Miranda certainly isn’t — he’s my friend and he’s a lovely, mildly eccentric middle-aged gay man with dysphoria) then that’s just some weak, inadequate pussyboy, and what’s the point, even? Like, if you don’t look fuckable and you’re not even trying to look fuckable, even to yourself, then you must be crazy to be doing this.
Did I miss the opportunity to say that Willoughby does kind of look like the Emperor Palpatine popping down to the shops after work?
“They can’t stand how they look” – well if that’s not the most straightforward summing up of gender dysphoria I ever heard. And what happened to the trans umbrella? Didn’t that include transvestites, crossdressers, and drag artists? Sucks, doesn’t it, being lumped together with people who you think you have nothing in common with, and then finding that those people are seen as representative of your group. Willoughby should to stop sowing discord among transwomen and start celebrating the lives of transvestites enriching its membership.
It’s so unfair that females are just handed being women on a silver platter when he has to work so hard at it! And then you get the guys who just demand it without putting any effort in at all. He deserves to be a woman because he’s ticked off all the boxes! IT’S NOT FAIR!!!
I remember a Magdalen Berns video wherein she comments on a video where one TiM is aghast at “Danielle” Muscato’s serious lack of attention to appearance in comparison to those (like him) who try to pass.
