'Follow the money' may be a conspiracy theorist trope and I hate the X cliché 'let that sink in', but when a respected paediatrician is advised not to travel by bus, and when lobby groups fall over themselves to discredit a meticulous medical review, both might seem to apply. 3/X

Imagine if a British medical professional was being threatened by, say, anti-vaccine activists. The “bien pensants” would rally to his/her defence.
Or imagine a medical professional conducting a review of cancer treatments and concluding that aggressive treatments are being administered with little evidence that the patients even have cancer.
