I listened to this chat between Jon Ronson and Adam Buxton yesterday out of mild curiosity, but then my hair stood on end when they got to this bit:

“You absolute shits,” thought I. “You smug, indifferent to women, callous shits.”

The tweet a few hours before that one was to retweet the UN shouting “TRANS LESBIANS ARE LESBIANS”.

    Simon Edge’s quote of GL from Tough Crowd hit home for me:

    Men invading lesbian dating apps was the clearest evidence of homophobia and rape culture that I could present. Not only was Jon unconcerned about it, I couldn’t even get him to acknowledge it.

    I’ve been involved in a long-running offline conversation with a friend who has a great deal of difficulty understanding the issue with trans ideology and its impact on women. He has a tendency to generalize everything, turning things like advocacy for single-sex spaces for women into keeping people away from groups of people they don’t like. That women as a class have a unique set of problems, regardless of how you prioritize problems, is a very tough sell for him. It is a frustrating conversation.
