I’ve often been embarrassed to be an American, but this is by far the lowest point.
For the moment.

With Trump, there’s always room for improvement, but 10 times more for disimprovement. America took the lead in Cold War #1, generally opposing anti-colonialism and national liberation movements, such as those led by the contemporary equivalents of George Washington & Co vintage 1776. (eg Vietnam.) Trump is now inviting his friend Vlad Putin to do as he pleases in Ukraine, then one by one, the countries of Eastern Europe.
Never in my lifetime and consciousness of unfolding history, have the issues been so stark. Hang together or hang separately.

It’s because Zelenskyy is Jewish, isn’t it? The Jews in Israel were supposed to roll over and let Hamas wipe them out, and Zelenskyy was supposed to let Putin take Ukraine without a fight. There are people whose only gripe against Hitler is that he didn’t succeed in killing all the Jews; and they aren’t all Muslims. A sizeable cohort of Christians want the utter annihilation of the Jewish people. How else is Jesus Christ going to come again?

Palestinians have been expected to roll over since their land was stolen from them in 1947. In fact, Palestinians and Ukrainians have far more in common with each other than with Israeli Jews.
A sizeable cohort of Christians support and fund Israeli terrorists, just as they supported and funded IRA terrorists. In fact, with there being so many Christians in so many sects, a sizeable cohort of them can be found to support almost any cause.
Neither Russia’s invasion of Ukraine nor the USA’s rolling over for Putin have anything at all to do with Judaism, but everything to do with territorial conquest, access to resources, and personal profit, pretty much like all wars since the first ape used a thigh bone as a weapon.
Remember, one of Putin’s justifications was to Nazifi Ukraine, not kill the Jews. Why? because during WW2 a sizeable cohort of Ukrainians were Nazis or Nazi sympathizers. I do not accept that as justification, anymore than I accept the Jews right to Palestinian land because a bloke called Moses wandered somewhere nearby 6 millennia ago.
However, the people of the USA have spoken and they have elected a bunch of supine, spineless drones who will lick the feet of tRump while he polishes Putin’s cock. Were he still alive, Khrushchev would be crying into his vodka and banging his shoe on a desk to see how easily Putin, a small time gangster from a crumbling nation, has brought the mighty USA so low so fast.

The inhabitants of Palestine (‘Felastin’ in modern Arabic) have had the misfortune of having their homeland plonked slap-bang down onto the junction of highways linking 3 continents: Africa, Europe and Asia. That got those Philistines moved in on and taken over by numerous empire-builders, from ancient Babylonians to the modern British. Their second-last imperial conquerors were the Ottoman Turks, putting the Palestinians into the losing side in WW1, subject to British domination after it, and likewise to the Balfour Declaration.
Following Hitler and his Nazi regime, there was naturally massive sympathy for the Jewish survivors, and for the setting up of modern Israel. It has been one of those rare cases where right is to be found in generous helpings on both sides.
If you ask me, the whole conflict will still be going in 1,000 years’ time, or until Christ returns in heavenly glory; whichever happens to come first. Of course, one possibility is that Christ will find the whole schemozzle beyond his powers to fix, give up and return skywards empty-handed.

Dear Rev, may I suggest that you take a hint from Omar’s response, and learn some history of the region prior to 1947?
I don’t know where the misapprehension comes from, but many people seem to believe that prior to 1947 there was a discrete country called Palestine, occupied entirely by Arab Muslims, who lived peacefully until the British rudely told them to budge over and allow a chunk of their country to be owned by European Jewish immigrants.
That’s so far from the facts of the matter as to constitute pure fantasy. Even a cursory reading of history will inform the layperson that the region never had stable nation states, has been subject to the rule of competing empires for at least four thousand years, and has been occupied not only by Muslims, but also by Christians and Jews, ever since their respective religions were invented. And, crucially, despite the best efforts of many occupying forces, the Jews never left.
Does any of this argument matter anymore? The Palestinians are gonna get ethnically cleansed, Jordan’s gonna implode, and no one’s likely to do anything about it. One set of religious conservatives destroys yet another because they’re both shit (obviously it’s a just a tad asymmetrical in terms of firepower \s).
Meanwhile the western world eats itself and China takes over everything while the oceans continue to heat up and destroy everything.
All this because the wrong individual was given power as a result of the politicians being foolish and weak and the voters were stupid and whiny beyond belief.
Oh my, are we a glum bunch these days. With good cause, but still.
Such a shame the land was already inhabited, and then the people given the land immediately used their western support to conquer and forcefully dispossess those inhabitants.

Yes, the land was already inhabited – by a mixture of Arabs and Jews, adherents to all three locally-warring Abrahamic religions, as it had been for centuries. As I wondered above, why are people under the misapprehension that European Jewish immigrants displaced local Muslim people? That’s not what happened.
For centuries, Jews had been both emigrating to escape Muslim persecution in the region, and returning to escape Christian and Muslim persecution in other countries. It was a region of city-states and nomadic tribes, in constant conflict, usually under the overall control of foreign empires. The British had been negotiating assorted peace treaties since they took over the region in the nineteenth century, without any lasting success. The extremists on the Muslim side simply would not accept any area of Jewish control, however small, because they – like Hitler, with whom they sided in WWII – have as an article of faith the desire to wipe out Jews from the whole world.
The Jews aren’t attempting genocide, they’re attempting to prevent it.
