Frankly, that is sort of what my husband said when I got my Masters…and my Ph.D. Also, my ex was fond of bragging to his friends about my degrees, as was the guy I dated before I met my current husband. Yeah, some men are quite fond of smart women. Men who don’t like smart women? Well, so what? Smart women don’t need ’em.
I have no idea who he is, but congratulations to her on a big accomplishment!
I’ve been saying for years that I wouldn’t date a woman WITHOUT a PhD..
But of course that’s utterly unimportant. The worth of a person is not based in any way on whether I would date her.
Having a PhD may help her identify and avoid those sad men who feel threatened by a woman’s ambition and achievement.
