I wouldn’t be able to resist asking exactly how the baby’s sex is applied, and how they do that to as-yet unborn babies. Because I had no idea that I lived in a universe where my older two sons were made male by the midwife at birth, but my younger two were made male by the ultrasound technician at my five-month scan. And why did they decide to make my daughter female? It’s a mystery, to be fair. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It’s quantum entanglement. The state of the baby’s gender is in flux until it is observed; it is the act of observation that fixes it. However, such an external observation is unstable, and does not in fact determine the ultimate state of the person’s gender. It is not the “eye” of the beholder that ultimately determines the state, but the “I” (or, as the case may be, the “we”) of the beholden; it is only when the ego (or, in the case of multitudinous snowflakes, the “wego”) observes within itself that true gender becomes known and is no longer subject to external determination. Thus, the midwife’s or doctor’s or technician’s declaration of gender is “true” in one sense of the word, yet the ultimate truth is unknowable until the self discovers it.
Once again, at least those parents who refuse to take any position on whether they have a “son”, a “daughter”, or something else entirely, until the child is old enough to declare their “gender identity” are being consistent. They are like the believer in the “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory who actually showed up at the infamous pizzeria with a gun to free the children supposedly being raped in the non-existent basement. Anyone who claims to believe the kind of things that gender ideology requires them to believe while referring to their baby as “son” or “daughter”, “boy” or “girl” is a hypocrite, very much like the people who claimed to believe in “Pizzagate” whose reaction (as Steven Pinker pointed out) was limited to leaving a one-star review of the pizzeria on Google.
I think we could call the medical “declaration”, as well, perhaps, as the “discovery” by the “self” of its “true gender”, Schrödinger’s Fiat, 1 & 2. The fact that 1 & 2 contradict each other does not matter — the subject remains throughout life in a state of suspension in which no genuine determination can be made as to which fiat is true, as is the case with Schrödinger’s boxed cat.
At least Sergeant Schultz never claimed to have a medical degree.

Hold on. Is this medical doctor, who says that she’s “not an expert”, one of the medical doctors that declares the sex of babies?
What happens if a non-expert doctor declares the baby’s sex? Does that still have effect?

Is there enough jumbo in my mumbo?

It’s a perfect mumbo jumbo gumbo.

Mmm… gumbo!
Did Schrödinger put okra in his gumbo?
WaM, #8:
Ha! Can’t have mumbo jumbo gumbo without the veg that identifies as ‘ladies’ fingers’.
This is one reason I love this site. How many places could you find where someone asks whether Schrödinger put okra in his gumbo? And get an answer?
