Greens face legal fight after trans activist elected as female rep

Gender-critical members of the party are consulting lawyers after Eleanora Folan was appointed to a role designed to boost women’s representation

Notice that even The Times is too chickenshit to get the headline or the subhead right. The issue is not that he’s a “trans activist”; the issue is that he’s a man. This Eleanora Folan of whom you speak is a man.

In fact the Times never does get around to saying that.

The Green Party is facing a fresh legal challenge after a transgender activist was elected to a position designed to boost female representation on one of its most powerful internal bodies.

Eleanora Folan, a self-described “trans communist” who has called for “glory to the Iranian resistance”, won a vote last month to represent the Eastern Region on the Green Party Council in its women’s place.

Gender-critical Greens said the result appeared incompatible with the Supreme Court ruling last year that “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act 2010 referred to biological sex, and that they were consulting lawyers.

Why say “after a transgender activist was elected” instead of “after a male transgender activist was elected”? Why say the gender-critical Greens said the result appeared incompatible with the law? Of fucking course it’s incompatible with the law. It’s maddening that the news media refuse to use accurate language about this subject when the deceitful language is part of what trans ideology exploits to entrench itself.

A Green Party spokesperson said: “All elections to Green Party positions are held in accordance with our rules and constitution, and we always act within the law.

“We do not accept that the flawed EHRC guidance prevents us from continuing to hold our elections in accordance with our rules, and we remain clear that trans women are women, trans men are men and that non-binary identities exist and are valid.”

Gobble gobble gobble squawk. Of course you do. That’s the problem.

The Good Law Project, the activist legal group, announced on Thursday it was defending the Green Party in any action and began raising money for the case.

Of course he did.

A post on the group’s website said: “The Greens recognise the rights enshrined in the Equality Act 2010 for people to hold gender critical views. But the party’s right to organise and operate in line with its manifesto and code of conduct is protected by Articles 10 and 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

“Trans rights are enshrined in the Greens’ constitution and formed a key part of its last manifesto, and political parties must be free to stand by their principles.”

And what exactly are those trans rights? Please explain, showing your work, what rights in the Greens’ constitution allow men to stand for elected positions that are reserved for women.
