Amnesty has a new slogan. To the surprise of no one, it’s utterly stupid.
That’s just not a generalizable slogan. Lots of people are not what they say they are. Just look at Trump! Look at con artists, fabulists, conceited people, depressed people, confused people, misinformed people, criminals, evangelists, quacks, advertisers, public relations experts – the list is endless. No, people are not automatically who they say they are. In many circumstances it’s a good idea to keep that in mind.
People who claim to be the sex they are not are definitely not “who they say they are”.
