    I’m so confused. I thought she was a lying robot.

    Going into elaborate detail, which she must have already had put together in her head to present, doesn’t really count as “heat of the moment” though, does it?

    She didn’t misspeak in the heat of the moment. She didn’t misremember something in the heat of the moment. She invented a politically advantageous lie in the heat of the moment.

    We have a word for people who do things like that.
