Siri, what is “hateful conduct”?

Remember this from a few days ago?

Now Twitter has made the ban permanent.

Twitter is calling it “hateful conduct” to tell that boy he is not a lesbian. Twitter is saying that to tell that boy he is not a lesbian is “to promote violence against or directly attack or threaten other people.”

Meanwhile relentless harassment and verbal abuse of women goes on unabated.

    Yes, but… um… that’s different. Next!

    Twitter is nuts.

The weird thing is I think they’re doing this from a leftist perspective. But how long did it take Alex Jones to finally get banned? Yet when someone on the left goes against someone on the left, the ban hammer comes down fast.

Maybe it’s some misguided attempt to be seen as fair to conservatives, so they let a lot slide with them, but nobody’s worried about them being unfair to liberals, so there’s no restraint.

So now the choices are complete compliance with trans orthodoxy or hanging out with neonazis on gab?

When someone announces “hurry up wit the 60 reports I made yesterday, because I have 50 new ones to make today,” why isn’t that a clue that the poster is using the platform to engage in targeted harassment? Who but a harasser has time to make 50+ reports PER DAY?!?

Skeletor @ 2 – Well, not leftist so much, but more Woke. The dispute between trans activists and “TERFs” is an intra-left dispute, however hard they try to paint us as conservative.

And that’s my point. There’s nothing lefty about instantly banning a woman who violates a made-up norm about men who say they are women while allowing years of grotesque abuse of women to go unchecked.

I’m pretty sure you’re allowed to tell lesbians they’re not lesbians on Twitter. You’re just not allowed to tell male people they’re not lesbians on Twitter.

Fair statement. The problem is, people don’t view a person as a liberal if they question trans ideology. They assume that person is at best a closeted conservative, or working hand in hand with conservatives to foster a reactionary, regressive ideology. So it isn’t about blocking liberals, or being unfair to liberals, in the minds of those who would ban gender critical feminists.

So I guess it’s all about what Ophelia said, being woke. Being woker. Being wokest.

Uh oh, Crhistina Hoff Summers self identifies as a feminist; do I get to disagree with her?

    Holms, are you a CHERF?

AoS, I’ve gotten so confused with all the acronyms, I’ve decided I will just self-identify as a SMURF – whatever the hell that is.

iknklast, no, not SMURF. I’ve already suggested that acronym for the McKinnons of this world: Shouty Men Usurping Real Females.

Okay, AoS, now I’m reduced to ashes. No, wait – CURF. Confused Uppity Radical Feminist. Okay, there.

  12. iknklast Avatar

Or maybe that should be Confused Uppity Real Female?

From our Classics menu – CURF ‘n’ TERF. The original and still the best. Accept no substitute.
