Again, this is Republicans, the lawnorder party, breaking every rule in the book to try to protect the criminal treacherous lying president from lawful investigation by colleagues in Congress. That’s what this is.

    And now it seems they’ve realized what they’ve done:

    After apparently realizing that they’ve opened themselves up to potentially being denied future security clearances, many of these lawmakers posted followup tweets letting people know that it was their staffers outside of the SCIF who were tweeting.

    “All tweets sent out when I’m in the SCIF are being transmitted to staff for publication,” wrote Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ).

    Oops.

    Not enough desks or palms. Idiocy aside, their behaviour is reprehensible, unethical and just plain fucking stupid. they are also very clearly lying with the whole, my phone is outside in the hands of a staffer bullshit. they’re being widely mocked for that and pilloried by former staffers at SCIF’s.

    #1 But… their explanation, which they appear to believe is exculpatory, explicitly states that they are transmitting via mobile phone from within the secure zone. Meaning they’re still in the same legal trouble as before. Do they really think that it is only a breach of security if they tweet from within a secure area? Why would tweeting be barred but not any other mobile phone transmission??

    Holy fuck the Republican party is made of stupidity.
